Wrapped around the hill of the clock tower, Aspres on Buech is called "The city Snail".
Village of air and light known for exceptional aerology.
The village is at the crossroads of the RD 1075 connecting Sisteron to Grenoble and the RD 993 connecting Valence by the Col de Cabre. Aspres-sur-Buëch is a high place of passage and also the town center of Haut-Buëch with the shops and services essential to the population. The aerodrome of the bridge is very appreciated by the amateurs of air sports.
The village has flourished since the Middle Ages. St Géraud d'Aurillac stopped there when he went to Rome on a pilgrimage. He had asked to establish a priory dependent on his abbey. It was probably built on the hill and the village grew all around.
The current church dates from the 16th century. It is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist
