Manteyer is a little town situated under the mountain of Céüze.

The Marais de Manteyer is the largest of the Hautes-Alpes. It lies at the bottom of a glacial valley that separated the mountain of Céüze and the Dévoluy mountains.
It measures 65 hectares divided into three different environments: a reed bed (30 ha) wet meadows (15 ha) and dry lawns (20 ha).
A wetland is a land whose soil is full of water permanently, it is essential to the balance of nature because it regulates the watercourse, recharges the aquifers, purifies the water, and especially it shelters a vegetation very special and many species of animals like the azure of the sanguisorbe for example (small blue butterfly).
