Oze
Inhabitants: 100 Area : 1203 ha Altitude: 850m
The inhabitants of Oze are called the Ozois.
Located southwest of the Oule mountain, 5 km from Veynes, Oze has revealed many traces of its Roman past (tiles, shards of pottery ...), evidence of early occupation. In the eleventh century, Oze gave its name to the Barony of "La Val d'Oze", which testifies to its importance at that time.
Later, Oze will be best known for the presence of the Priory Saint Pierre de Véras, whose construction dates from the twelfth century. The walk to this village, surrounded by many farmland, allows you to discover vestiges of this rich past. Today, the town is resolutely turned towards a policy of permanent housing.
